With Christmas right around the corner, I know that it’s easy to get swept away with festivities, family and all of the other things that go along with it. Let me help you make it easy to shop for gifts for the gear head or auto enthusiast in your life. I know that tools are a big part of my life and I know that not many will turn down new toys, I mean tools. I also know that the project cars are an outlet to build, enjoy, and generally tinker with need parts too. I’ve got you covered there with suggestions on where to look for those, too!

Let’s get started with Tools!

I’m a big fan of solid economical tools that do the job we ask without spending too much money on them. I’ve been using the Skil 12V tool line and have been very happy with them. They offer drills, impact drills, tire inflators, work lights, reciprocating saws, electric ratchets, radios and many other tools. They’re not heavy in the hand and have the power to get the job done. A bonus is the batteries have a usb port to charge your mobile devices wherever you go. You can find them here:

Another useful tool to have, especially while traveling or playing with old cars, is a portable jump pack. Topdon makes some really great products and have made the size of these tools much smaller than ever before. These jump packs are not bulky, fit in your hand, and are easy to use. One of my favorites is this Contour Surface Conditioning tool. This removes rust and scale from metal like nothing I’ve ever seen. With an assortment of sanding drums, this tool is a must have especially if there is decades of surface rust to remove to get things ready for paint!
